Solace for the Children has kicked off its 2018 Summer Medical Program! Seven children, one Peace Ambassador and Solace for the Children’s Afghan Director were all warmly greeted at the airport Monday by excited and emotional host families and Solace Leadership. All seven children have been matched with local doctors who will provide specialized medical care for them over the next six weeks. Some examples of the medical care they will be receiving are: prosthetic arm, heart surgery, cleft palate reconstruction, jaw and foot surgery. Not only will they receive specialized care but a general physical, dental and eye exam. Host families are opening up their homes and hearts and the community is coming together to participate in peace building activities. We are looking forward to another successful summer of “Building Peace on a Foundation of Health”!
